Compare the Blood Armor Duo and Benchmade 112 H2O Dive Knife for field cutting tasks. Learn which tool suits your emergency or tactical needs best.
Quick answer
Choose the Blood Armor Duo for everyday kitchen-first aid cutting or the Benchmade 112 H2O Dive Knife for underwater and rugged field use. Your decision depends on whether you need a simple, functional duo for general tasks or a purpose-built dive knife for demanding environments.
Cutting Environment Matters Most
The Blood Armor Duo is designed for everyday kitchen functionality, making it a straightforward choice for food prep and light emergency cutting in a controlled setting. In contrast, the Benchmade 112 H2O Dive Knife is engineered specifically for underwater and marine environments, with a sheath for safe carry in wet conditions. If your field work involves water, mud, or extreme moisture, the dive knife’s purpose-built design gives it a clear edge.
Portability and Carry Options
The Benchmade 112 H2O includes a compatible sheath, allowing you to secure the knife on a belt or vest for quick access during field operations. The Blood Armor Duo comes as a set of two items, which may require separate storage or a larger pouch. If you need a single, compact tool that you can grab and go, the dive knife is more field-ready; if you prefer a multi-piece set for station use, the Duo fits better.
Trade-offs at a Glance
- Versatility vs. Specialization: The Blood Armor Duo works for general kitchen and light field cutting, but it is not designed for underwater use or heavy-duty tactical cutting. The Benchmade 112 H2O excels in wet environments but is less suited for food prep or multi-item tasks.
- Carry Convenience: The Benchmade 112 H2O comes with a sheath for secure carry, while the Blood Armor Duo is a two-piece set that may require a larger pouch or separate storage. If you need one tool you can grab quickly, the dive knife is more field-ready.
- Budget Consideration: The Blood Armor Duo is priced at USD 548.99 (catalog comparison USD 899.99), while the Benchmade 112 H2O is USD 128.76 (catalog comparison USD 201.19). The Duo represents a higher investment for a set; the dive knife is more budget-friendly for a single, specialized tool. If you need a dedicated dive or field cutting tool, the Benchmade 112 H2O offers a lower entry point. If you want a multi-piece set for kitchen and station use, the Blood Armor Duo may justify its cost.

Which Tool Fits Your Mission?
Best for
- Field medics or outdoor professionals who work in wet or marine environments and need a reliable, sheath-carried cutting tool.
- Users who want a single, purpose-built knife for tactical or underwater cutting tasks without extra pieces to manage.
Not for
- Users who need a multi-tool set for kitchen or station-based cutting and food prep — the Benchmade 112 H2O is a single knife and not designed for those tasks.
- Budget-conscious buyers looking for a general-purpose cutting solution — the Blood Armor Duo is a higher-cost set that may be overkill for simple field cutting.
